Horses of Hope Horses of Hope is an upcoming installation of multiple equine silhouettes, each based off of childhood toys. They are constructed of wood and life sized. Their intention is to slow foot traffic, and invite admirers to share their hopes in chalk. The installation includes water tight containers for chalk storage and requires soft ground installation. If you are interested in hosting the Horses of Hope in 2021, please use the contact page. If you would like to support this and other projects, you may venmo support @KaycesArt.
Rexa Rexa was a 5 foot yard installation on the edge of our private residence in Warren, MI. On December 14th, 2020 the locally loved tyrannosaur was stolen, devastating our toddler and adoring neighbors. If anyone knows her whereabouts, we would love to see that she is up somewhere bringing people joy, and that she be returned in time to our yard. The structure is wood and fragile, we understand if bones are broken upon her return. Please use the contact page if you would like to return her with reward, or help support a new dinosaur to take her place for the kids in our community,
Human (2019+) Human is an ongoing series where the observer is invited to partake in my reverie and it’s innate conformation. Each piece is intentionally lacking titles that would facilitate assumptions or descriptions of gender, sex or ethnicity. This omission isn’t because those ascriptions are absent of value, but rather that they would be assumptions based on the limitations of singular observation and not acquired knowledge of the individual. Instead, they are as we are; collectively human.Rough plywood was chosen to showcase tactile realness with rough edges, dents and other perfections that speak to the truthfulness of our physical being. As they take form I am mindful that the act of drawing is a part of our evolutionary history and current presence, and does not require intricate detail to have magnitude. All works were born of original life drawings, and are numbered in the order they came to existence
